Arturo Ortíz

Arturo Ortiz Struck (1969) studied architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA), and received a master degree in urban research at the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM). He is member of the National System for Art Creators, FONCA. In the last years he has being participating in different urban plans in the Federal District, and in different States in Mexico. In his architectonic practice, he has developed projects in Mexico, Montenegro, Serbia and China.

He is professor in the architecture department at UIA since 1998, and had a workshop in UNAM for two years (2002-2004). He has being lecturer in different universities and forums in México, Canada, Switzerland, Serb, China and the United States.

Arturo Ortiz Struck has participated in different exhibitions of architecture and contemporary art in different places such as Mexico, Itally, Germany, Serb, the United States and China.

Next to Rozana Montiel, he gets the grant for the PHD Research: "Sustainability in poor areas: Chimalhuacan Informal squatter settlements in the context of the local and global discourses" from the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction in 2007.

In the present, Arturo Ortiz Struck is head of his new architectonic and urban research workshop: Taller Territorial de México.
